  • Class 11: Local School Entry
  • Class 12: Trade Entry
  • Class 13: Classic Vehicle
  • Class 14: Vintage Vehicle
  • Class 15: Illuminated Tractor

Prizes & Trophies

  • Cash prizes awarded across all classes.
  • Trophies for Best Decorated, Best Illuminated, and Best Original Entry.
  • £125 awarded to the “Best in Carnival” entry.
  • Youth Council Trophy awarded to the best Children’s entry.

Key Assembly & Safety Regulations

  • Assembly & Judging: Assemble at Newport Industrial Estate from 5.00pm. Judging starts at 5.45pm. Parade departs at 7.00pm.
  • Height Restriction: MAXIMUM VEHICLE HEIGHT 11ft / 3.35m. Vehicles exceeding this height will not fit through Southgate Arch along the route and will not be permitted in the procession.
  • Float Visibility: All floats should be open for viewing on both sides wherever possible.
  • Safety & Children: Children on floats must be seated and strapped in at all times. Safety ropes or rails must be fitted on all floats to prevent falling.
  • Trailer Marshals: All trailers must have at least 1 person walking alongside during the procession.
  • Alcohol Ban: Strict total alcohol ban on all floats.
  • Insurance: Float entries must ensure they have suitable insurance in place, available on request.
  • Marshals: Official Marshal requests must be abided by at all times.
